Freshman FW24 — The Collection That Started Everything
Every brand has a starting point. For CAN'T BE LABELLED, it was Freshman.
The Fall Winter 2024 collection wasn't just a debut — it was a comeback. Designed under pressure, rebuilt from scratch, and launched under a new name after everything that came before it had to be left behind. What could have been the end of the brand became the beginning of something sharper.
The Class of FW24
Freshman introduced the pieces that would define CBL's identity going forward. The Members Club — hoodie, sweatpants, and tee — arrived as the brand's core set. Heavyweight cotton, clean silhouettes, the kind of construction that doesn't need to shout. The Members Club Hoodie became the most recognised piece in the range almost immediately.
The Heartless T-Shirt came in Jet Black and Flat White — a graphic built around the barbed wire heart motif that would go on to define CBL's visual language across future drops. Sharp, culturally coded, unmistakable.
The Racer T-Shirt and Racer Shorts introduced a different energy to the range — a performance silhouette in 88% nylon and 12% elastane, sitting alongside the heavyweight cotton pieces as a contrast in construction and intention.
The CBL Trucker Hat and CAN'T BE LABELLED Trucker Hat completed the drop — two versions of the same accessory, one carrying the abbreviated mark, one carrying the full brand name.
Why it mattered
Freshman wasn't a perfect collection in the conventional sense. It was designed and produced in a compressed timeline, rebuilt for a different season than originally intended, launched under a name that didn't exist six months earlier. That pressure is in the DNA of every piece.
The name says it all. First year. First collection. First statement under the CAN'T BE LABELLED name.
The class of FW24 set the standard for everything that followed.
